Upgrade CakePHP from 2.1 to 2.8+ -

i'm sure should upgrade project 2.1 2.8+ how hard be? have experience this? there "dos , don'ts" should know (apart man)?

how hard depends on quality of code , how close stayed principles of framework. if used , followed conventions , didn't change core classes or made other big stupid thing should matter of following migration guides.
